BLEECKER

Winner > Best First-Time Feature Film
Synopsis
BLEECKER tells the intertwining stories of a motley of characters in NYC’s Village. The straight face in the pack is “Maya,” who has come to The Big Apple to find her place in this world.
Here she encounters a longtime couple who express their affection through bickering; a Texan lass who is forever looking for love in all the wrong places & her want-to-be punk son & delusional mother, the latter of whom thinks that she is the Queen of Egypt. Also in the mix are a hapless therapist, a psychic, and an assortment of others who create little distractions for themselves instead of dealing with what is really gnawing at their souls: big questions with no answer.
