This documentary is about a refugee, who is stuck in an asylum procedure. The film especially zooms in on the waiting process with images that express the atmosphere and the state of mind.
Director Biography – Machiel van den Heuvel
Machiel van den Heuvel studied ‘Film Directing’ at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. At this Academy, he was seen as a filmmaker with authorship and so in essence, he is looking for stories and personalities that somehow reflect his inner life and also have a universal appeal. Machiel is best known for two films, namely, his directorial debut
“The Sako Tapes” and his second film “Noble Savage”.
“The Sako Tapes” was received very well by the festival circuit. It was, for example, selected by more than 100 film festivals and won over 50 awards. “Noble Savage” is now being released and has already been positively received. Besides a growing amount of festival selections, it won more than 10 awards.
