Nicola Zambelli is an Italian filmmaker and author of films documentaries, photo reports, video-art installations,s and theater videos.
He has a BA degree in Hermeneutics Philosophy with a thesis on the narrative identity of the Self and a MA degree in documentary filmmaking (IED, Milan)
He is responsible for directing and direction of photography and he is among the founders of the film production company SMK Factory and the independent film distribution portal opened.it
He conducts educational projects in schools thanks to which in 2019 he wins the first prize and a special mention at the “International audiovisual awards” in the days of the 76th Venice International Film Festival. In May 2020 he won a special mention at the “EVA – excellence in visual anthropology awards” awarded by Ethnocineca of Vienna for the film “Cracks”.
In spring 2020 he researched the topic of pandemics in one of the most affected areas (northern Italy), creating a multimedia art exhibition in November 2020.
His short film “The Awakening Hour” has been awarded in May 2021 as best performance by the “Nil Art Gallery” of New York.
