Synopsis
Zhou Xiaowen, a young woman cynical about romance, enters into a tacit, short-term arrangement with Liu Junzhe after meeting at a party. While Xiaowen explicitly declares she is not looking for a long-term relationship, Liu believes he can change her mind. During their initial period of harmony, Xiaowen projects her emotional needs onto Liu, experiencing a fleeting and illusory sense of security.
However, when Liu makes a formal confession of his feelings, Xiaowen’s deep-seated fear of commitment drives her to reject him. Liu’s warmth vanishes instantly, and he abruptly ends the relationship. Spiraling into self-doubt, Xiaowen begins to question how much of their shared intimacy and chemistry was ever real. Three months later, the two find themselves at the same restaurant, separately recounting the past to their friends. Through this dual-perspective narrative, the film exposes the stark dissonance between memory and reality.
